Kiambu County: Police have confirmed shooting dead an unknown man they say was suspected of violently robbing a student in Thika town, Kiambu county, near Gatitu Junction. Police on patrol responded to screams from the victim. Police shot dead one suspect who was about to shoot at the officers. He died on the spot from a single bullet. Police recovered the victim's cell phone from the suspect’s pockets, a sharp machete and a home made firearm carefully tucked in the thug’s genitals. The student only identified as Onyi was on his way home when he was attacked by the trio. Two managed to escape. Body taken to General Kago morgue in Thika.
