Rift valley police boss Tom Odero has told Missing Voices police killed two people on October 26.
Three young men attacked Komote area and tried to drive off with 14 donkeys.
Residents alerted police who were on an operation in Laisamisi area.
On reaching Lentert area, police caught up with them and exchange of fire ensued leading to the killing of the two, Rift Valley police boss Tom Odero said.
An accomplice was later arrested by police.
Two AK47 rifles and 26 bullets were recovered from the deceased.
