On March 18, 2022 a video went viral showing officers from Pangani Police Station executing two individuals who were lying on the ground. The police report stated the deceased were suspected criminals who were fatally injured during a shoot-out with the officers. Contrastingly, the video shows no sign of a shoot-out; instead, Galgalo Bariso (a boda boda rider) and his passenger, Sharim Kimoa, are lying on the ground for a while before one of the officers shoots them. A post-mortem report revealed that Bariso was killed as a result of multiple gunshot wounds in the head, chest and abdomen. The officer shot Bariso 14 times. According to his mother, Galgalo 32, had gone to buy juice for his seven months expectant wife and never returned home.
