According to Citizen TV,the deceased was arrested and locked up at Simba police station in Kilifi on December 31,2022. He was accused of assaulting his friend. The deceased wife claimed she found her husband dead when she had taken food to him at the station. The deceased family led by his father Mr Lewa have disputed the police version that the deceased committed suicide using his underwear. The family has called for thorough a investigation. Coast region police boss Titus Karuri told MV the matter is under investigation and a postmortem report was underway to determine the cause of death.
