According to reports, two people including a police officer and his passenger were killed on July 30,2021 in Machakos county, Kathome area. Machakos County Commissioner John Ondego confirmed the vehicle was sprayed with 18 bullets. It is alleged by eye witness accounts that the perpetrators were from police elite squad, the Special Crimes Unit.
